To make it easier for you to start your studies, we have compiled the most important information and dates below.
There are obligatory events for first-semester students (Bachelor) such as preliminary courses at the Faculty of Engineering and the SIK programme at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, which take place before the regular start of lectures (see "Important dates").
As a student at our university, you have access to a range of IT services during your studies once you have been authenticated. Your university account is used for this authentication. After successful enrolment, your user data will be sent to the private e-mail address you provided when you applied. Please ensure that your mailbox is not full.
Pforzheim University issues a multifunctional chip card as a student ID to all students during the introductory events or at the latest at the start of lectures. All applications are integrated into this card. You therefore do not need an additional card for the canteen, access system etc., but can use the chip card for the following functions:
- Student ID card
- Library card (serves as a reader card. When you use the library for the first time, you recognise the library's statutes).
- StudiTicket for bus and train
- Registration at the multifunctional devices (printer, photocopier)
- Electronic wallet canteen
- Access system for buildings and rooms
You will receive your ID card during the introductory events.
The chip card is your property and should accompany you for the duration of your studies.
Student ID card as a ticket (StudiTicket)
All students at Pforzheim University can travel by bus and train in Pforzheim and the surrounding area without paying extra. Upon enrolment and payment of a flat-rate public transport fee as part of the student union fee, the Pforzheim University student ID card is valid as a travel pass (StudiTicket). The StudiTicket is personal and non-transferable.
In the winter semester, the StudiTicket is valid from 1 September to 28 or 29 February, in the summer semester from 1 March to 31 August.
Until you receive your student ID card, you can use the StudiTicket to travel to and from the university.
Detailed information on the StudiTicket can also be found on the website of the General Students' Committee (AStA) of Pforzheim University.
The IT services also include the online printout of study certificates. This allows you to print out the required number of study certificates yourself.
The certificate of study contains the information according to § 9 BAföG. Therefore, we do not manually confirm the corresponding form for the BAföG application.
The application for credit transfer must be submitted once with a cut-off period of six weeks after the start of the semester.
Please read our information on this topic carefully under "FAQ examination questions".
Once you have successfully enrolled, you can log in with your user ID in the header area of the website and will then be redirected to the so-called E-Campus.
We have provided further useful and important information for you there. Please note the information on the compulsory events for first-semester students, some of which take place before the regular start of lectures, under "Starting your studies" - to be found under "Studies, Study organisation".
