In Germany, all students are required to have health insurance. Students who are enrolled at a state recognized university are required to have health insurance until the age of 30. The insurance obligation begins with the semester of initial enrollment.

You are required to provide proof of a valid health insurance policy in order to be able to enroll at Pforzheim University. Your health insurance will provide us with this proof electronically.

Please contact your health insurance company before submitting your enrollment documents and arrange for the health insurance company to send the notification.

Information for those with private insurance:

If you are privately insured (either yourself or as a family member), you do not need to notify your private health insurance company.

In this case, we require a report from a public health insurance company that you are exempt from the public health insurance requirement.

This notification is also done via an electronic message, which you must initiate before enrolling.

Please note that we can only process your enrollment if we have received an electronic notification from a health insurance company. For this reason, please contact the health insurance company of your choice in advance and arrange for the notification to be sent.
