Applied research is a central component of our university life. A wide variety of issues are researched in an application-oriented manner in several institutes, research laboratories and study programs. Research focus areas at Pforzheim University include stamping technology, design, embedded systems, display, materials science, resource efficiency and sustainable human resource management.

• Test assignments: Our university's laboratories - from the materials laboratory to the bicycle frame test stand - are equipped to a high standard and offer the possibility of taking on external assignments.

• Research institutes: Our university has several research institutes. In addition, the ZAFH MERSES is a center for applied research in the field of embedded systems.

• Knowledge and technology transfer: The Akademy at Pforzheim University (ahp) offers continuing education, consulting, lectures and expert opinions.
