International cooperation for the material flow cost accounting
At the invitation of the University of Kobe (Japan) Prof. Mario Schmidt presented on December 3 approaches to the development of material flow cost accounting (MFCA). The central point is the inclusion of emissions: How much CO2 and other greenhouse gases can be avoided by material and energy waste savings in companies? The cost side has been covered already by MFCA. The climate aspect of the method would provide valuable information for environmental protection.
At the symposium, mainly representatives from the Southeast Asian region were present. The Japanese scientists are striving for collaborations with partners in China, Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia. To Germany, there are traditionally good connections because the MFCA method has its origin in Germany.
