Pforzheim revisited Berlin. Twelve years of scholarship
25.11.2022 to 26.02.2023 Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim

Pforzheim Revistied celebrates its anniversary and presents an exhibition of the scholarship holders:
Lena Beigel, Frieda Dörfer, Luisa Fastabend, Anna-Sophie Fink, Aaron Fischer, Johanna Galefske, Katharina Gisch, Yolanda Heintze, Stephanie Hensle, Rosa Hirn, Fabian Jäger, Eva Knoch, Christiane Köhne, Xin Liu, Satoshi Nakamura, binerothjewellery, Rebekka Schultze and Franziska Vogt.

Hollow embossing, pressing, guilloching - these traditional handcrafted jewelry techniques are learned, applied and cultivated as part of "Pforzheim revisited". With a scholarship from C. HAFNER at the German Museum of Technology in Berlin, alumni of our Jewelry program are exploring the insights and knowledge gained from these and other traditional techniques. During three or six intensive months at the German Museum of Technology in Berlin, the scholarship holders reinterpret valuable traditions, place them in unfamiliar contexts, and combine them with other materials and techniques. Contemporary jewelry and objects are created that contribute to the further revitalization and dynamic preservation of these important handcrafted jewelry techniques. The exhibition features work by scholarship recipients from the past twelve years.

The scholarship "Pforzheim revisited Berlin" is a cooperation between the C. HAFNER company and the Stiftung Deutsches Museum of Technology Berlin. It is decisively supported by the working group "Schmuck verbindet" (transl.: 'Jewelry connects'), the Jewellery study program of the Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, the Technical Museum of the Pforzheim Jewelry and Watch Industry as well as the EMMA - Creative Center. It is part of the cooperative project "Manufakturelle Schmuckgestaltung," which has been on the German UNESCO Commission's nationwide Intangible Cultural Heritage List as an example of good practice since 2015.
