Business Research
News
Business research takes many different forms, is relevant in various situations and a regular prerequisite to making informed decisions. That makes it even more important to approach research tasks in a structured and goal-oriented manner.
Therefore the Business Research course in the 1st semester, which is taught by Prof. Frauke Sander, aims at enabling students to manage business research tasks effectively. How to get to well-defined research questions, how to use common methods of qualitative research and analysis techniques to gather information and finally how to summarize findings in a convincing report were all topics that were discussed in class.
The students learned about different ways of carrying out analyses and research on a wide range of issues that many of them might face in their future careers, like e.g. market analyses. One method that was not only discussed in theory, but which the students also tried out on a practical case, was conducting an expert interview. We were happy to welcome our MBA alumnus Harsha Vardhan, who is working in Product Analytics and Data Management at Teamviewer, as an expert to classroom, with which the current students were able to conduct a (mock-up) expert interview.
Thanks, Harsha, for supporting this hands-on approach of the course!
