Semester Closing WS 2016/17 - Semester 3

News

Congratulations to all third semester MBA students for completing their last presence semester at Pforzheim University!

The third MBA Semester is said to be the toughest, as it is the last presence semester on campus and based on the individual concentration of each student. Electives can be chosen in Marketing, Consulting, Accounting & Finance. This semester also offers "Wyoming Week" and a Company Project, which is a joint project between a group of students, a supervising professor and a company.

The annual "International Experience", the so-called "Wyoming Week“, took place in October 2016. 15 MBA students from the University of Wyoming joined the 22 MBA Pforzheim students for a week. A joint student project and several company visits to Germany and Switzerland were on the agenda. This year’s topic was “Challenges of European Companies”. Companies visited were SWP in Pforzheim, SAP Switzerland in Regensdorf, Clariant in Basel, and SBB near Bern.

This semester's Company Projects were conducted with BOSCH Rexroth, BOSCH Corporate Purchasing, Hymer Group, Frankotyp Postalia and Heidelberger Druck. Groups of 3 - 4 students were asigned to one of the projects and had to work on it throughout the semester. In a final presentation, all groups presented their findings to the companies.

Like the first semester students, the third semester students had the opportunity to listen to guest talks by MAHLE, Lidl and BOSCH. Some joined the excursion to Daimler and its museum in Stuttgart and the Design Thinking Workshop at MANN + HUMMEL in Ludwigsburg.

Wishing all MBA students best of success for the next and final semester - be it by writing the thesis with a company, with the university or by doing an internship at the same time!
