“IT’S ALL ABOUT COMMUNICATION HERE…” – MBA Company Experience at Bosch

News

The new MBA students ended their week full of excursions with a company visit to Bosch.

The new MBA students ended their week full of excursions with a company visit to Bosch, a world leader in supplying technology and services. The branch they visited, located in nearby Renningen, was only a short 20-minute ride from the Hochschule Pforzheim campus. The students were joined by Prof. Dr. Markus Schwaab, Associate Dean Business School at Hochschule Pforzheim and Tanja Solombrino, MBA Coordinator.

Upon arrival the MBA students were greeted by Markus Christian, Director Car Multimedia at Bosch. Mr. Christian shared stories from his start at Bosch 19 years ago as a Product Manager to his current role in the Marketing and Business Strategy division. Students were able to interact hands-on with actual products that are being produced in automobiles throughout the world as well as future technological innovations to come. Mr. Christian shared the many opportunities for MBA students at Bosch, where they constantly need new ideas on future projects and applications for the Internet of Things due to their work with some of the world’s largest software and automotive companies.

The MBA students were then treated to an exclusive tour of the Bosch campus by Kevin Heiner, working student at Bosch HR. Kevin told the students that the campus’ unique, interconnected structures were designed to encourage communication between teams and departments because at Bosch “it is all about communication...” Teamwork is a running theme as the campus has many meeting and “thinking” areas for employees to engage with one another.

Following the tour, Silke Quass, Innovation Consultant that has been with Bosch for many years told the students about Bosch’s 5-year history working with Hochschule Pforzheim. She detailed over 8 different projects from former Pforzheim MBA students that have partnered with Bosch and informed about previous hires from the MBA program. The visit then ended with Mr. Heiner detailing further opportunities for the MBA students including a Junior Managers Program, internships and working student opportunities. Overall it was a stimulating and invigorating visit for the MBA batch following a week of many unique company experiences.
