Dieser Frage ging eine Podiumsdiskussion beim Landesbeauftragten für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg (LfDI) am 14.07.2023 nach. Es diskutierten Prof. Tobias Keber, seit 1. Juli LfDI BW, Axel Voss (MdEP), Tobias Haar (Aleph Alpha), Prof. Rolf Schwartmann (Vorsitzender GDD) und Kai Zenner (Berater Digitalpolitik MdEP Voss, zuständig für Ausgestaltung der KI-Verordnung).

Das Zentrum Verbraucherforschung und nachhaltiger Konsum (vunk) forscht zur Künstlichen Intelligenz, ihren Chancen und Risiken für die digitale Gesellschaft. So entwickelt das vunk aktuell beispielsweise zusammen mit Partnern im Projekt KIVEDU ein System zur KI-gestützten Durchsetzung von verbraucherschutzrechtlichen Unterlassungsansprüchen.

Weitere Arbeiten des vunk befassen sich mit Herausforderungen der Teilhabe, Selbsbestimmung und „digitalen Vulnerabilität“ des Einzelnen in einer KI- und datengetriebenen digitalen Gesellschaft; so zum Beispiel das Videoprojekt Smart City, Smart Region … Smart Society sowie jüngste fachwissenschaftliche Veröffentlichungen und praxisorientierte Vorträge wie auch darüber hinausgehende Publikationsbeiträge (Seite 18-22) der Fachgruppe Digitalisierung und IT des vunk.

The future of data protection - Is the GDPR ready for AI?

This question was addressed in a panel discussion at the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (LfDI) on 14.07.2023. Prof. Tobias Keber, LfDI BW since July 1, Axel Voss (MEP), Tobias Haar (Aleph Alpha), Prof. Rolf Schwartmann (Chairman GDD) and Kai Zenner (Digital Policy Advisor MEP Voss, responsible for shaping the AI Regulation) discussed the issue.

The Center for Consumer Research and Sustainable Consumption (vunk) conducts research into artificial intelligence, its opportunities and risks for the digital society. For example, the vunk is currently working with partners on the KIVEDU project to develop a system for the AI-supported enforcement of injunctive relief claims under consumer protection law.

Other vunk projects deal with the challenges of participation, self-determination and the "digital vulnerability" of the individual in an AI- and data-driven digital society; for example, the video project Smart City, Smart Region ... Smart Society as well as recent scientific publications and practice-oriented lectures and other publications (pages 18-22) by the vunk's Digitalization and IT specialist group.
