“Design your own way”
News
It is always a very inspiring experience when MBA Alumni’s visit the campus and share their j ourney, experience and learnings with the current students of the MBA International Management Program. This event gives students the opportunity to learn the latest concepts of the corporate world and simultaneously build a good network. This time we were really happy to welcome Maria Horalikova, Head of Russian Treaty Business at AON Benfield, as our guest in classroom. Maria completed her MBA in the 2005 and immediately started working in the reinsurance sector. She has several years of experience and expertise in the field and we were really glad to have her back on campus.
Maria shared her practice experiences throughout her carrier and provided valuable insights into the insurance and reinsurance business. She also gave a brief overview on the topics such as what is the role and responsibility of a reinsurance broker, how to build trust with clients, what are the differences between the insurance and investment activities, how do insurance companies make money etc. Maria emphasized the importance of negotiation skills in the corporate environment and provided tips on how to sell yourself well. She also suggested students to take calculated risks to design their own way. “This session was far more exciting than I actually thought. I would have never known about the topic well enough just by studying books” said one of our MBA students.
